Jim Van Fleet Lead Vocals/Song Writer
"The unexpected death of my mother is what pushed me
into country music" answers Jim Van Fleet to the
question that's been asked so many times, "what made
you pursue the live stage when you have such a cool
job already?"
Jim recalls those moments just before the decision was
made to pursue his lifelong dream.
"I got a call at 2:30am just before Mother's Day
weekend 2003 to return home to Oklahoma and bury my
mother who had just passed at only 49 years old. It's
been the hardest and worst experience of my entire
life. I was only 28. She was my rock, my sanity, and
my best friend. I was devastated."
"A lot of things are cloudy and numb from that time
but I will never forget standing over her grave and
thinking about how much of her life she, and all of
her family and friends were cheated out of. I said
right then and there I would finally face my fear's of
failing, and rejection and would pursue my biggest
dream in life...to be a successful Country Artist."
